Natsukashii

about

After last year’s Winter E.P I've kept writing piano instrumentals. I wrote 4 more pieces, and they’re coming out as singles over the next few months. I gave them the project name “Kyūka”, which means “holiday” in Japanese. Back in 2015 I spent some time in Japan. Over the last year of going nowhere I’ve found those memories coming back strongly, and these 4 pieces are all inspired by the places and people I met. Kyūka means holiday, or time off, which seems pretty apt. Writing these piano pieces is also a kind of “Kyūka” for me from the daily task of songwriting. This first one is called Natsukashii, which roughly translates as nostalgia, but more like the joy of past memories. This one was a co-write with Harpal Mudhar
